Privacy policy

HTML Builder ("we", "us") builds websites for businesses in Halifax and across Nova Scotia. This page explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to send us. If you use the quote form on this site, that can include:
- your name
- your business name
- your email address or phone number
- your current website address, if you have one
- anything you write in the message box
If you use the WhatsApp chat button, we also receive your WhatsApp phone number, your profile name and the messages you send us.
When you press “Send request” on the quote form, your details are sent through Web3Forms, a form-to-email service, and delivered to our email inbox. This website does not keep its own copy of form entries.
How we use it
- to reply to your quote request or question
- to prepare a quote and, if you hire us, to carry out the work
- to keep a record of our communication with you
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for anything unrelated to the reasons above.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set cookies of its own and does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Third-party services
- Google Fonts. The site loads its typefaces from Google. When a page loads, your browser contacts Google's servers and your IP address is shared with them, as with any website that uses Google Fonts. See Google's privacy policy.
- Web hosting. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and operation of the service.
- WhatsApp. The chat button opens WhatsApp, a service owned by Meta, with your message ready to send. Nothing is sent to us until you send it in WhatsApp. Once you do, the conversation is also handled under WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
- Web3Forms. The quote form sends what you type to Web3Forms, which emails it to us. Web3Forms may briefly process or store submissions to deliver them. See Web3Forms’ privacy policy.
- Email. Messages you send us are handled by our email provider.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and project records for as long as we need them to respond to you and to deliver and support our work, and for any period the law requires. After that we delete or anonymize them.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including access limited to the people who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive details such as payment card numbers or government ID numbers through the quote form or by email.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to us keeping it, within the limits of any legal or contractual requirements. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you have a concern we have not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
